A comprehensive introduction to the key concepts and frameworks of global health. This course will focus on understanding the central objectives, strategies and challenges of global health in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) paradigm.
An introduction to the theory and practice of evaluating public health programs and interventions in a global health context. Topics will include monitoring and evaluation, process evaluation, participatory approaches, impact assessment, and implementation research. Sensitive to issues stemming from contexts marked by large inequalities of power and resources, this course also aims to examine the ethical issues related to the practice of evaluation in global health and to cultivate reflective practice. Water, sanitation and hygiene will serve as cross-cutting themes.
